The 39° North Photography blog is back!
For those of you who were unaware, I quite unintentionally obliterated my entire blog earlier this month. Four years of posts are completely and irretrievably GONE. <insert moment of silence here> The good news is that all of the photos I used in those 4 years of blog posts managed to escape harm by safely residing over at my SmugMug site so there’s that anyway. Whew!
So, whether I like it or not, I am getting a fresh, new start on the blog. I’m choosing to see it as a positive thing (or as a “plot twist,” as my friend Dave kindly reminded me). The design you currently see on these pages is a work in progress as I endeavor to develop a whole new website that I’m hoping will help project me and my photography in new and exciting directions. Keep an eye out for updates. While you’re at it, take a peek at the Home page and let me know what you think of it so far.
If you typically get to this blog through my 39° North Photography Facebook page, I strongly encourage you to subscribe via email (see the right column on the blog page) as Facebook is notoriously bad at showing page updates to people who “like” those pages.
Last year, this blog was mostly devoted to my Project 365, a rather tedious but very worthwhile effort to take and post at least one photo a day for an entire year. With that project now successfully completed (you can view all of the photos from that project HERE), my intention going forward is to do more “Tips and Tutorial” posts and more photography assignments, plus the usual trip reports, random photos, and a plethora of pet pics. If you have specific topics you’d like me to cover or have any ideas for assignments, feel free to let me know via the comments or email me at 39DegN@gmail.com.
In conclusion and for no other reason than “I love this photo,” here’s a giraffe making a funny face.
